I originally started this petition to highlight broadband over utilisation issues. Since then Virgin Media have taken over and it would seem the various issues have escalated. After having been billed erroneously for a sizeable sum I decided to alter the petition to include issues with Virgin Media telephone services. Since then I have had to include Virgin Media TV. As time has gone on and the information from various sources has grown I now find myself having to consider an all encompassing site covering every area of business Sir Branson is involved with, and believe me the list is sizeable!

Virgin Media is a big corporation with a lot of money and influence. We need big numbers to have any impact and garner any serious attention. I implore you to sign the petition and have your say in the forum then do what ever you can to encourage others to do likewise. Put links on your websites, send emails, phone your family and friends, anything. I promise when I have a reasonable amount of signatures,  i.e. 1000+, I WILL run with this until I am satisfied.

It has crossed my mind that some may wonder what 'satisfied' includes. I intend to petition VM to implement the following:-

  1. Make all customer support calls and technical assistance calls free.

  2. Provide documented proof that steps have been taken to ensure each and every customer receives at least 70% of the bandwidth they pay for at least 95% of each month. An example would be a customer paying for a 10 Mb connection should receive no less than 7Mb for at least 29 days per month. I don't think this is unreasonable when there are some companies providing significantly more bandwidth to some business customers.

  3. Provide a guaranteed assurance that reduced performance in any service will result in proportionally reduced bills, i.e. Bills reduce by an equal ratio to that of the reduction in performance in the month being billed for.

  4. Provide a guaranteed assurance that, in addition to 3 above, an overall reduction in any service in excess of 30% over any contiguous three month period will be compensated for with one month of that service free.
